Daily Journal 2/28/11

The house was made of wobbly glass twisting and turning up to the sky. The house was to big for just one person to live in. Come to think of it I don't think anyone lived here. I've passed this house so many times growing up and I have not seen one person enter or leave the house. No that's a lie I've seen one but it was a UPS guy delivering a package. But it was strange because instead of leaving the package outside the door he entered the house as if he lived there. This was very strange. So I decided its time to investigate. I camped out in my station wagon in the parking lot of the park right across the street from the house. I sat there and investigated the house for a few days. Everyday same thing the house sat there as people an by. I did notice that m neighbor gabby ran past the house everyday when she went for her jogs and everytime she passed the house she would stop and squint at the window as if she saw something in there. As I noticed her stop and squint I decided to take a look at what she was looking at. I also squinted through my bino's and saw a twinkle in the window. As if it was a reflection from the sun hitting a hand held mirror from the inside of the house, this is strange I thought. There is no sun to be seen an where. Its just a dark cloud day with a chance of rain.

Daily Journal 2/25/11

If I could invite 3 people to the dinner whether they were living or dead the first person I would choose would be Will Smith a famous African American actor. Id invite him because I grew up watching movies, and television shows with him in them. Ex) Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Wild Wild West, and Men in Black ( I & II). I've always looked up to him for some reason I can't describe but he is for sure one of m favorite actors. Another would be Chuck Norris just because he's a GOD. Ha ha I can't count how man times I've heard Chuck Norris jokes, but when I do hear one I can't help but laugh or smile. And the last person I would invite would be Jackie Robinson, because he broke the color barrier for major league sports which allowed colored folks to start playing sports with whites, which gave me the opportunity to take up any sport i'd like.

Assonance

Counting the endless souls as we put the world in your control
Freedom is how we roll, so stop and gather our death toll.
Sleepless nights await, as we train for this day
As dirt goes flying we hear gunshots ring
Tanks over the horizon blasting while millions of people dying
But we fight on until we know the battle is won, although everyday a new war has just begun

Daily Journal 2/24/11

The most scared I've been is when I was at a 5th grade basketball tournament with my dad. My team was in the championship game and while I was playing my dad got a phone call saying my mom had just gotten into a car accident with my little brother and sister in the car with her. My dad got up and left but I didn't realize what was going on until he told me why he left during the 2nd period. When I saw him get up I thought he was leaving to use the restroom so I didn't worry about it but once half time came and I didn't see him I knew something was wrong. But I didn't worry to much about it I just kept playing the game and knew id find out later what had happened. So I finished the game strong we won the championship. Everyone was happy and taking pictures of the son with a trophy but me. I just left and went outside and waited for my dad. I waited for like 2 hours. Luckily there was a park near by so I went there and just swung on the swings while I waited.

Daily Journal

hmmmm well... I don't know what to talk about besides random stuff... I forgot to eat breakfast this morning so I'm kind of hungry, Luckily I made a beagle to bring with me to school so I could eat it later on. So this week should be very interesting. I have to go to m girlfriends house to have dinner with her family! :/ ha ha so i need to go out and buy clothes that are actually presentable for such an occasion. Its not a really fancy dinner its just me and her family having dinner at her house but still its the first time I've been invited to have dinner with my girlfriends family. It should be a fun time though. I've talked to her parents a few times and the seem like nice people. I know her dad coaches for boy's lacrosse, and i was interested in taking up lacrosse as a sport so I might go ahead and ask him a few questions about what lacrosse is like because I've never played it before. I know before the didn't seem to like me but once they found out I was a military man the seemed to get alot more respect for me considering I know what I want to do with m life.

8 line poem

The bloody, beat soldiers baking in the burning sun.
The fight for freedom is not fun.
Burning heat, boiling skin blistering.
Fighting foes is not fascinating.
A death a day is a delay for slumber.
How many dead in a day we all wonder.
Sandy storms surround the soldiers.
Suppressed shoots sliding through the air surprising yet another soldier.

Earliest Childhood Memories

The earliest childhood memory I can think of is when i got my first skateboard for Christmas . I was 7 years old and my dad bought me a Element skateboard so I could use it once the snow melted. Then once spring came he would take me to the park and watch while I skated around trying to stay on the board. Eventually i got pretty good at staying on the board and riding around. Then once summer finally came I was able to stay on the board with ease. That's when I started trying to do tricks like Ollie's and kick flips. First time I tried an Ollie I landed it. I thought it was luck so I tried again, and I landed it again. I tried them so much and kept landing them that I didn't need to practice any more because I was already good at them. So I moved onto the bigger things. The Kick flip!. This was a trick I loved watching people do because I thought it was something professionals could do. So I looked online at how to do kick flips and their were some videos on how to place your feet and all that jazz. So I watched the videos for about 2-3 hours just studying how to maneuver the trick. Eventually I would go outside and practice some of the beginning like foot place meant and how to flip the board under myself. Then I was ready. It was time to do the first big trick I'd ever do. I got on my board. Bent m knees slightly and tapped on the tail of the board. I heard the tail snap at the ground like the jaws of an alligator closing on its prey. As soon as I heard that I flicked my front foot off the side of the board to make it flip around. Everything was going in slow motion. As I read online people said the first time you do the trick everything will seem like slow-mo because you have to pay attention to the grip tape. As soon as you flick the board to make it spin you have to look down at your grip tape because as soon as you see the black grip tape after making the board flip around in a 360 motion you need to push your feet back down onto the board.

season of change poem

Spring
Spring the color of green
Green as the grass
The time for running around
The sound of the ball hitting the net
The smell of determination
The taste for victory
The time to start lacross
A woman walks out into the cold night air. Her hands are shaking from what just happened. She can't believe what she just saw. A friendly Humvee crossing the intersection when all of a sudden an IED went off and sent the Humvee flying through the cold desert air. Sirens went off a bright red flash of light blinding her as she ran to get ready to engage the enemy if needed. It was about 0230 and she had little sleep due to recent missions having to go into town and patrol for 16 hrs straight.

Ode

Skateboard oh Skateboard how fast you are
Sitting beneath my broken couch in the garage
You get me from point A to B with haste
You go so fast with no time to waste
I love your wheels
I like doing flip tricks with my heels

Killing, Missing, Forgotten
A thing that ends life

Daily Journal 2/16/11

I wake up and try to take a deep breath, but the deeper the breath the more severe the pain. The ground is hard beneath my back, and I feel a dull pain in my arm... I look in shock at my arm and I see that it is broken. The first time ever breaking a bone and it has to be my arm. What am I going to do it's the semi-finals for football and now me being the star quarter back am out for the rest of the season. I can't help bring out team to championship. I look away from my arm and continue to lay there trying to breathe but every time I do the pain in my chest gets worse and worse. So i decide to slowly breathe through my nose and inhale less. It helps out a little but it still causes severe pain. I take one more shot at trying to look around but I can only see what's in front of me. My back is laying there on the cold hard road scratched and bruised, bleeding the red wine blood through my shirt. I wonder what happened? All i can remember is going to a party getting drunk and that's it. I can't drive so some one must have been the designated driver, but I see no one around but me. Maybe the driver ran off because he was scared? Who knows all i know is I'm in alot of pain.

Metaphor

Every day is an uphill battle.
Life is a battle against a higher enemy  and we are the underdogs seeking higher ground.
Our life lies within our weapon.
Our smell of flowers in the distinct smell of gas.
Sand beaches whip through the air.
Grenades being tossed around like baseballs.
Cracking of the gun bringing back homerun memories.

simile poem

Death is like playing the lottery.
Life is like an ever green tree.
Life is like recycling.
Butterflies are like feelings in your stomach.

Best Friend

Technically I don't really believe in best friends because none of friends are better then the other in anyway. I treat them equal and give them the same amount of respect. But if i had to choose who m best friend would be it would for sure be one of my friends who is a girl that im really close to because they are always crazy wild and unexpected which is funny to me because it amusses me. All my female friends are pretty much better than my guy friends just because they can tell when something is wrong and will help when needed there for if i had to choose a best friend it would be one of my female friends.

2/14/11 Daily Journal

Out of the dark we came into the dangerous creek rapidly flowing, charging water into the walls of the canyon. BAM!. I blacked out hitting my head against a rock on the canyon wall. I woke up reeking with the smell of fish. I sat up and realized i fell out my raft and washed up onto a shore line. I didn't know where I was so i sat there and thought of a plan. While in deep thought I heard the crafty squeal of an insturment.
I recognized that toon anywhere. Some on nearby was playing the trumpet, They were really bad but I got up onto my feet and decided to walk towards it. As I walked twoards the noise I looked around and noticed that this must be a small island because of all the thick jungle looking trees and wierd animals I've never seen or heard of before.

Song of the Day

  1. I chose this song because, it's one of my favorite songs by the band, I listen to it everyday and I really like the message I get from listening to it but for other people the message may differ.
  2. The story in the lyrics is about being in the middle of the war as an US Army soldier. In some of the lyrics it describes life back at home and how it can affect family and in other parts it describes visuals and stuff seen while in battle like people dieing or wounded.
  3. The structure is A, A, B, B
  4. The emotional tone is set to make listeners really think about what war is like. It also has a sad tone to it but then jumps into a rushing beat. Listening to this song really makes you wonder what it would really be like and cause you to imagine what their seeing as described in the lyrics.
  5. The message or lesson of the song is to think about what our troops are going through, how hard their life is and what they see on almost an everyday basis.

10 years from now

I woke up on a sunny day. It was the middle of June on the coast of Florida where I live with my beautiful wife and 2 kids. I get out of bed and put on some shorts and a shirt. Go down to the kitchen and start cooking breakfast. Its about 7:30 am and the kids are getting ready for a summer vacation to germany with their school. the wife is still asleep due to a long day at work the other day so i decided to let her sleep. I feed the kids and then get them over to the school to leave for their trip. I drop them off say good be and head back home.... Its my wife and I's anniversary so i decided to go and get her gift since she was still asleep. She always talked about how she loved dogs and always wanted one for the house, but we never could decide on what kind to get. So i went out to the animal shelter to see what kind of dogs they have. Their was a wide variety but i decided that i was going to get her a golden retriver. I always grew up liking those kind's of dog's i remember having one myself until it got out one day and I never saw him again. His name was goldy and i thought that suited him well... So i got the golden retriever from the shelter and started to head home when i realized that it would be special if i put a ribbon on the dogs collar... so i ran to the store quickl ran inside and bought a ribbon and tied it around the dogs collar... We headed home and walked through the door. The wife was still sleeping so i figured it would be a nice time to go in and surprise her. I brought her some breakfast in bad along with the dog. I hid the dog in the closet and closed it. I woke up my wife and she sat there and ate her breakfast while we talked then when she was done she got up and looked around. She gave me a dissapointing look like i didn't give her any gifts. I told her to open up the closet and their the dog was.

Most Embarassing Moment

When I was little I used to sleep walk into the living room and then lay back down on the floor. Then my dog would follow me and sleep next to me on the living room floor for the rest of the night, now I have babies pictures of me and my dog on the living room floor sleeping.

Story Continued

looks my way... and I take out my M4 and shoot above the lions head to scare him for a warning shot, but he didn't flee. The worst part about that is the warning shot was my only bullet. So there we are standing their looking at each other. The zebra is starring in excitement. It grabs popcorn and a lawn chair and watches like its a intense action movie. Lion still starring at me, licks its lips and slowly walks around me. I reach into my pocket and slowly pull out a combat knife. The lion stops and begins to charge towards me. I quickly slash through the air with my knife and i hear a sharp wimper from the lion. The zebra laughes like m sister used to back at home, and the lion is on the ground crying like my older brother. This seems ver strange, animals can't talk or or laugh like a human or cry like my little brother what!? Then i wake up and realize my brother is on the ground crying because in my sleep I hit my brother in the face while he was trying to wake me up and the zebra laughing well... that was m little sister who saw the whole thing happen.
